CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-107 <br />By: Council Member Carolyn Kasler <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DON <br />COPELAND, DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES, TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 2001 FOR MULTIPLE PROJECTS TITLED SIDEWALK CURB <br />CUTS FOR DISABLED PERSONS AND OLDER PERSONS, <br />AMERICANS WITH DISABII.ITIES ACT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED RECREATION COMPLEX, AND WATER MAIN <br />1MPROVEMENTS FOR SUMMERLAND AVENUE, VIRGINIA AVENUE, <br />MACBETH AVENUE, AND ESTHER AVENUE, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing conducted on August 17, 2000, has determined <br />that the City of North Olmsted qualifies for Community Development Block Crrant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council created a Citizens Advisory Committee for C.D.B.G. through <br />Resolution No. 99-69; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee submitted a report to this Council on September <br />01, 2000 recommending multiple project applications; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has designated the Sidewalk Curb Cuts For Disabled Persons And Older <br />Persons, Americans With Disabilities Act Improvements At The North Olmsted Recreation <br />Complex, and Water Main Improvements For Summerland Avenue, Virginia Avenue, MacBeth <br />Avenue, and Esther Avenue as all being eligible for funding through the Community Development <br />Block Grant program funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development and administered for the City of North Olmsted by the Cuyahoga County Board of <br />Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of applying for up to the maximum award of $150,000 with the <br />following allocations: <br />Project Priority 1- Sidewalk Curb Cuts For Disabled Persons And Older Persons <br />for $120,000 <br />Project Priority 2- A.D.A. Improvements At The North Olmsted Recreation Complex <br />for $30,000 <br />Proje,ct Priority 3- Water Main Improvements For Summerland Avenue, Virginia <br />Avenue, MacBeth Avenue, and Esther Avenue <br />for $105,000; and <br />
