. <br />?,. . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2000-102 <br />BY.• MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />HIGH SCHOOL S. I. T. E. S. PROGRAM ST UDENTS FOR <br />THEIR WORK IN CREATING A HISTORICAL REPORT OF <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ELECTED OFFICIALS FROM <br />1950 TO THE PRESENT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted High School S.I.T.E.S. program has been in existence <br />since the 1991-92 school year; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted S.I.T.E.S. program is the only curriculum-based high <br />school class for credit promoting community service in the State of Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted S.I.T.E.S. program has become a model used by the <br />State of Ohio Department of Education and the United States Department of Education, and <br />has won national awards for its work in community service; and <br />WHEREAS, the coordinating teachers for the North Olmsted S.I.T.E.S. program are <br />Robert Pierce and Christine Kilbane, who started the program, and Jeff Zullo and Amy <br />Caldwell; and <br />WHEREAS, all of the students in the North Olmsted S.I.T.E.S. program are seniors; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the following S.I.T.E.S.' students, Curtis Baker, Shawna Calaway, <br />Monica Clodwick, James McCraw, and Katie Waddell, participated in a historical research <br />project assigned by a City Council ad hoc committee, supported by the City Landmarks <br />Commission and the City Department of Human Resources, to create a historical report of <br />City of North Olmsted elected officials from 1950 to the present; and <br />WHEREAS, various city employees, past and present, including Fred Hatton, James <br />Christman, Dewey Limpert, Pat Martin, Henry Caster, Mazy Ann Pack, Don Copeland, <br />Sandy Purper and Barbara Seman, lent their valuable time and assistance to the project; and <br />WHEREAS, the fruit of the labors of these S.I.T.E.S. students is a wonderful <br />historical report which recognizes and documents the many contributions to the growth and <br />success of municipal government in North Olmsted which so many men and women from all <br />walks of life in our community have made over the last half century; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Entire Council wish to commend these S.I.T.E.S. <br />students for their contribution to their community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO.
