<br />Ralph Bohlmann <br />July 10, 2000 <br />Page 2 <br />Three (3) Month Lease of a Portable Dewatering Centrifuge <br />It is recommended to request from City Council the authorization to immediately <br />enter into a three (3) month lease of a portable high speed, high solids, solid bowl <br />dewatering centrifuge system. The recommendation is based on leasing a system that has <br />the same major machinery features as contained in the technical specifications of the <br />2000 Dewatering Centrifuge Project bidding documents. _ <br />It is recommended that a portable high speed, high solids, solid bowl dewatering <br />centrifuge system be leased for the months of August 2000, September 2000 and October <br />2000. After October 2000, the design services, the construction of the designed work and <br />the acquisition and installation of a permanent high speed, high solids, solid bowl <br />dewatering centrifuge system would then proceed to completion. <br />The oumer of the leased equipment would provide the following services under a <br />three (3) month lease agreement: <br />l. deliver to the plant and then set up a portable high speed, high solids, solid <br />bowl dewatering centrifuge system; <br />2. provide one (1) week of training for the plant operating staff; <br />3. provide biweekly preventative maintenance services on the system during the <br />three (3) month lease period; and <br />4. remove the portable high speed, high solids, solid bowl dewatering centrifuge <br />system during the first week of November 2000. <br />Cost of a Three (3) Month Lease for a Portable Dewatering Centrifuge <br />The estimated cost for the recommended three (3) month lease of a portable high <br />speed, high solids, solid bowl dewatering centrifuge system would be $109,375. This <br />estimated cost was developed from cost information provided in the attached July 6, 2000 <br />quotation from P&H Senesac, Inc. (Attachment 1). <br />The recommended lease would have four (4) cost components.
