Using the 2000 <br />Budget Authorization line item totals for operating and maintenance cost components, a <br />$300,000 cost reduction would represent an annual reduction of approximately 6.5% due <br />solely to the abandonment of the thermal conditioning/vacuum filtration dewatering unit <br />processes. When combined with the other annual operating cost reductions in the <br />Utilities line item made in 2000 and projected for 2001, it is not unreasonable for the <br />operating and maintenance cost components beyond mid-2001 to be 10% lower than the <br />2000 Budget Authorization line item totals.
