Ordinance No. 2000-1 <br />Page 2 <br />SECTION 1: That the City, upon recommendation of the Director of Public <br />Service, having already awarded a contract to Morton International, Inc. to supply road <br />sa1t, has deternuned that said contractor may be unable to meet the City's demand for road <br />salt. Because of the emergency need, the Director of Public Service is authorized to <br />purchase road salt on an emergency basis from other sources, including but not limited to, <br />Acme Company. The authority to purchase from other sources shall be limited to times <br />and situations when Morton International, Inc. is unable to meet the demand of the City <br />during the balance of the year 2000. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to protect the residents, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />? <br />PASSED: <br />??, <br />ATT?ST: ,- ; <br />? .f <br />Barbara L.
