<br />or handicapped parking card from the Registrar of Motor Vehicles in accordance with Ohio <br />R.C. 4503.44, shall be permitted to park in areas designated for the handicapped as specified <br />in subsection (c) hereof. <br />(e) From and after September 1, 1982, any person desiring to develop property for <br />general retail business purposes located in a General Retail Business District or a Mixed Use <br />District, requiring more than twenty-five parking spaces as specified in the Zoning Code, shall <br />be required to include in their parking layout plan submitted to the Building Depaztment, <br />handicapped parking spaces, which shall be on the formula of: <br />One handicapped space for every twenty-five parking spaces. <br />Two handicapped spaces for every twenty-six to fifty parking spaces. <br />Three handicapped spaces for every fifty-one to ninety-nine parking spaces. <br />Four handicapped spaces for every 100 to 199 parking spaces. <br />Five handicapped spaces for every 200 to 299 parking spaces. <br />Six handicapped spaces for every 300 to 399 parking spaces. <br />Seven handicapped spaces for every 400 to 500 parking spaces. <br />One handicapped space for each additional 200 spaces over 500. <br />The establishment of such handicapped spaces, as provided herein, shall be a condition <br />for the issuance of an occupancy permit as provided for in the Building Code. (Ord. 82-73. <br />Passed 7-6-82.) <br />( fl Any person who violates subsection (d) hereof shall be guilty of a minor <br />misdemeanor, the fine for which is more specifically set out in this chapter. Any person <br />charged under subsection (d) hereof shall have an absolute defense if they are, in fact, <br />handicapped as defined by Ohio R.C. 4511.69(H). (Ord. 83-35. Passed 3-15-83.) <br />be amended, and, as amended, shall read as follows: <br />351.20 HANDICAPPED PARKING. <br />(a) Special parking locations and privileges for the handicapped shall be provided <br />and designated at all offices and facilities of the City where parking is provided, whether <br />owned, rented or leased by the City. Such locations shall be reasonably close to exits, <br />entrances, elevators, ramps and each handicapped parking space shall not be less than twelve <br />by twenty feet. <br />(b) Special parking locations and privileges for handicapped may be designated at <br />any commercial establishment as may be provided by the owner or tenant thereof, in <br />compliance with the requirements of § 351.04. <br />5 <br />
