<br />that the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), with all due speed, improve Interstate 480 <br />from the west corporation line to the east corporation line by constructing crash barriers at <br />locations jointly determined by ODOT and the Engineering Department of the City of North <br />Olmsted as necessary and appropriate in order to adequately address the serious safety concerns <br />and interests of residents of the City of North Olmsted living along or near Interstate 480. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of this Council is hereby directed to forward a copy of this <br />Resolution, immediately upon its passage and approval, to the Ohio Department of Transportation <br />(ODOT). <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to construct the crash barriers requested because of <br />the potential for injury or death to residents of the City if another large truck travelling 55 miles <br />per hour should leave the highway and ultimately crash into a residence located near I-480, and <br />further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: First Reading: <br />Second Reading.• _ z?., a-e ?..•C??? <br />Third Reading- <br />, <br />Committee: ATTEST.• BARBARA L.
