<br />Ordinance No. 99-136 page 2 <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes the MBE/WBE goals of Cuyahoga <br />County to be the target percentages for Community <br />Development Block Grant projects. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council does hereby authorize and <br />encourage a specification requirement for MBE/WBE <br />participation of 15% for Minority Business Enterprise <br />and 5% for Women Business Enterprise in Fiscal Year <br />1999 for the project applications to Community <br />Development Block Grant named "Acquisition And <br />Demolition Of Commercial/Retail Property," "Sidewalk <br />Curbcuts For Disabled And Older Persons." <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the <br />preservation of the public health, safety, and <br />welfare, and for the further reason it is immediately <br />necessary for the City to file an application for <br />Community Development Block Grant funds on or before <br />March Ol, 1999, and further, provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of the <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />SECTION 3: All prior Ordinances inconsistent with this <br />Ordinance, in whole or in part, are repealed to the <br />extent necessary to avoid conflict with this <br />Ordinance so as to achieve the objectives of this <br />Ordinance. <br />
