<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-69 <br />BY: COUNCILMAN DUANE K. LIMPERT <br />A RESOLUTION RE-AUTHORIZING A CITIZENS' <br />COMMITTEE CREATED BY RESOLUTION NO. 98-96 FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF GATHERING AND PRESENTING TO <br />COUNCIL PROJECTS FOR THE CITY'S COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) APPLICATIONS, AS <br />AMENDED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, as recognized in Resolution No. 98-96, citizen input is a valuable and legally <br />required part of the application process for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />funding for deserving city projects; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council continues to believe that citizen input into this process may be <br />increased by the existence of a Citizens' Committee whose purpose is to gather and present to <br />Council projects which may be used by the City in applying for CDBG funding; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to re-authorize the Citizens' Committee which it created <br />in 1998 to consider projects for FY2000 and FY2001 funding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there be and hereby is re-authorized the Citizens' Committee created <br />by Resolution No. 98-96 for the purpose of gathering and presenting to Council projects eligible <br />for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. Said Citizens' Committee shall <br />consist of nine members appointed as follows: one member to be appointed by each Ward <br />Councilperson from their Ward for a total of four members; one member to be the Chairperson <br />of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation, Long-Range Planning Committee of Council; <br />one member to be appointed by the Mayor; one member to be a resident 65 years or older <br />appointed by the North Olmsted Division of Aging/Senior Center Advisory Council; and two <br />members to be appointed by the Director of Human Resources, one of whom shall be either a <br />disabled resident or a resident directly affiliated with an agency providing services or advocacy <br />for disabled persons. Said appointed members shall represent a diverse cross section of the <br />community and, if possible, live within CDBG targeted areas. The task of the Committee shall <br />be to discover and present to Council desirable projects which are eligible for CDBG funding in <br />
