<br />and hereby is, repealed. In addition to any other Ordinance, or part of any Ordinance, which is <br />by implication repealed, this Council specifically repeals Section 2 of Ordinance No. 90-161, <br />which reads as follows: <br />"That an employee, as specified in this Ordinance, shall become eligible for vacation leave <br />on his anniversary date. Vacation leave may be carried over from one yeaz to the next, but in no <br />event, shall an employee carry more vacation from one year to the next in excess of the amount <br />of vacation earned in the prior year, and then, only, upon the approval of the employee's <br />immediate supervisor. An empioyee may be paid for carry over vacation time in lieu of time off <br />provided, however, that approval therefor is obtained from the employee's immediate supervisor, <br />and, in any event, all employees must take a minimum of five uninterrupted days off each year. " <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to repeal Section 2 of Ordinance No. 90-161 and <br />amend Section 161.11 of the Administrative Code to clarify and make more equitable the City's <br />policy regarding the use, carryover and payment of accumulated vacation leave earned by non- <br />bargaining unit employees, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds af <br />all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />, <br />PASSED: <br />J <br />BARBARA L.
