12.6 Fire Prevention personnel shall be entifled to the following Holidays: New Year's Das. <br />President's Dav. Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, <br />Thanicsgiving Day, Christmas Day, one-half day Chrisunas Eve, and one-half day New Year's <br />Eve day, the Employee's Birthday and a floating personal use day. <br />12.7 The Fire Cluef or his designee shatl have the right to cancel a Holiday in the event of an <br />emergency situatioa. An Employee shall have the right to cancel any Holidays no later than five <br />shifts prior to tiie scheduled Holiday, eYCept as described in Section IZ. lU. <br />12.8 Seniority shail prevail on Holiday requests: <br />A. On the same day. <br />B. AlI requests prior to three months of the date selected shall be considered same day <br />requests. <br />12.9 Selection date and time shall apply to those requests su6mitted between scheduied shifts within <br />three monihs of the selected day. <br />12. IU In the event an Empioyee is off duty due to an on-duty injury, or itlness of more than five shifts, <br />he shall be pernutted to cancel any Holiday previously scheduled during that tune. <br />12.11 AII requests for Ho[idays shali be acted upon befare the end of flte shift on which they are <br />submitted, eYCept as in Section 12.4. This applies to request received prior to 1400 hours. <br />ARTICLE XIII <br />VACATION SCHEDULE <br />13.1 All Employees of the Fire Department shatl receive a vacation at the Basic Hourly Rate af Pay <br />plus Longevity, provided tbat they have been employed for at least one year.
