?Fk <br />'?- 13.5 Upon retirement or death, an Employee or his estate shal! 6e paid for all accrued vacatian, at ihe <br />Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity at the ticne of such retirement or death. <br />13.6 For Employees hired after Januarv 1. 1996, years of service ivith another public sector employer <br />shall nat be credited far years of service towards vacation time as an Employee of the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />13.7 Employees shall be pernvtted to request that earned vacation leave be accicmulated in accordance <br />witli the provisions in this Section. Employees shall be permitted to request that a portion of <br />vacation leave be accvmulated or 6e paid at their Basic Hotuly Rate of Pay ptus Longevit_y. In no <br />event shall an Employee be permitterl to accumulate vacation leave or hn paid at their Basic <br />Hourly Rate of Pay ptus Longevitv in eycess of one-half the amount af vacation earned in the <br />prior year. Eniployees wlio are entitled to an odd number of sliifts vacation, and choose to <br />accuniulate or be paid in accordance with this Article, shall oi-dy be permitted to accumulate or be <br />paid the lesser of one-half (example - an Employee is entitied to 7 shifis, he mzist use 4 slufts and <br />be eligible to accumulate or be paid for 3 shifts). In no event shall an Empioyee be pernutted to <br />carryover iiuo die suissequent year more vacation than one-half of the vacation earned in the prior <br />year or be paid for more than one-haif of the vacation earned in the prior year. Ir? no event shall an <br />Employee be permitted to accumulate a total aggregate vacation leave amount in excess af huo (2) <br />times the amount earned in dhe prior year. <br />131.8 Employees shall select usage of earned vacation time as follows: <br />A. General Rules: <br />Shift Captains shall proNide each Employee a selection dav assignment by <br />seniority, no later thaui October 15'' of each year. <br />Should an Employee be scheduled off duty azz his selection date, the Employee <br />s1ia11 submit his seleciion request before tus iast dulq day. <br />3. Vacation selection shall not bump previously approved jā¢acations; and Lhird <br />round vacaiion picks shatl not bump approved holidas s. <br />4. Each Employee shatl have seventy-two (72) hows to complete Ius selecrion. <br />Failure to complete his selection within the time frame provided shall cause the <br />18 <br />??.,.,,.. . v.. _
