?.ra <br />l <br />6- (_.?..,. ?.-CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003 -163 <br />BY: Mayor Musial. <br />AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH AN RFP PROCESS AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH <br />SALLYA. JULIAN TO SERVE AS THE CITY'S ART CONSULTANT FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF SELECTING AND PURCHASING WORKS OF ART <br />FOR THE CITY'S NEW LIBRARY BUILDING, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Library Fund provides for the City to expend Fifty Thousand Dollars <br />($50,000.00) for art for the new Library building presently under construction and scheduled to <br />open in late winter or early spring; and <br />WHEREAS, the City requires the services of an art consultant to assist the City in <br />selecting and purchasing art for the new Library building; and <br />N'HEREAS, due to time constraints, it is not feasible to select an art consultant through <br />the RFP process provided for and established by Ordinance No. 2002-72 for personal service <br />contracts; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, based upon the recommendations of the <br />City's Library Committee and representatives of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, to <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with Sally A. Julian to serve as the City's Art <br />Consultant for the purpose of selecting and purchasing art for the new Library building; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to dispense with the RFP <br />process required by Ordinance No. 2002-72, and, upon approval of the City's Board of Control, <br />to enter into a contract with Sally A. Julian of "Julian Contemporary Art" to serve as the City's <br />Art Consultant for the purpose of selecting and purchasing works of art for the City's new <br />Library building. Said contract shall be in a form and substance approved by the Director of <br />Law, and all expenditures made by the City pursuant to said contract, including but not limited to <br />total commissions and total purchase price for works of art selected, shall not exceed Fifty <br />Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00). <br />
