<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003 -115 <br />BY: Mayor Masial. <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO A ONE-YEAR PERSONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE LAW FIRM OF RADEMAKER, MATTY, McCLELLAND & <br />GREVE TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL AND SPECIALIZED <br />LEGAL SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it is the recomrnendation of the Director of Law and the Director of <br />Personnel & Administrative Services that the City enter into a personal services contract <br />with the law firm of Rademaker, Matty, McClelland & Greve to provide professional <br />legal services in the field of workers' compensation defense; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has, by Ord. No. 2002-72 established, in part, Section <br />111.08, NOCO, and provided for Exceptions from the Request for Proposals (RFP) <br />process in order to expressly authorize the Mayor to enter into contracts for specialized <br />legal services; and <br />WHEREAS, it is finding and desire of this Council to follow the <br />recommendation of the Directors of Law and Personnel, grant an Exception frorn the RFP <br />process, and to authorize the Mayor to enter into a personal services contract for <br />specialized legal services; and <br />WHEREAS, under the City Charter, only the Mayor may enter into contracts on <br />behalf of the City and a copy of the instant proposal is attached hereto; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into an <br />Agreement with the law firm of Rademaker, Matty, McClelland & Greve for the purpose <br />of providing specialized professional legal services to the City in the field of workers <br />compensation. The Agreement shall be substantially in the form of the retainer letter <br />attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A. <br />
