PATEL <br />UTII.I1'IES COORDINATOR <br />EDUCATION: <br />B.S., Civil Engineering, 1967 <br />EXPERIENCE: <br />? <br />Mr. Patel has over 25 years experience in the preparation of plans and specifications for several <br />types of civil engineering design such as sewer, water lines and other utility designs, paving, <br />grading, site work, quantity take-offs and cost estimates. <br />Mr. Patel has also performed construction inspection of bridges, roadways, water lines, <br />sewer lines, office buildings, parking lots, cemetery development, maintenance garages and site <br />work. His duties include review of shop drawings; contractor's progress reports; payment <br />schedules; construction schedules; meetings change orders and contractor's work performance in <br />accordance with the plans, specifications, and special provisions. <br />His project experience on projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation include: <br />Design Engineer: Interstate 90, Cleveland Urban Area, five mile section from W. <br />16()th Street to W. 44th Street. The work consisted in pavement repairs, construction of <br />concrete shoulders, resurfacing, drainage improvements, pavement marking and sign <br />replacements. Maintenance of traffic plans were developed to maintain three lanes of <br />traff'ic during rush hours and two lanes at other times. The highway normally carries four <br />lanes in each direction. <br />Project Engineer: Interstate 480, Cleveland Urban Area, 17-mile section from <br />Rocky River to Lee Road. The work included slope restoration, erosion control, drainage <br />improvements and landscaping. Various types of geotextiles were used, and <br />innovative methods were developed for erosion control. The section includes the <br />interchanges with I-71, I-77 and several city streets. <br />Design Engineer: Ridgebury Boulevard (C.R. 54) and Lander Road (C.R. 20). Mr. <br />Patel designed the approach work for the bridge replacements of these roads over I-2,71. <br />Design included concrete pavement and new catch basin pavement and new catch basins <br />to replace the bridge scuppers. <br />Design Engineer: State Route 687, Fulton Road, in Stark County, Ohio. This <br />project in preparation of Engineering Feasible Alternatives and Environmental <br />Documents for widening the existing 2-lane highway to five lanes. The site is in a <br />rapidly developing area northwest of Canton, and will reuse the existing pavement while <br />maintaining traffic during construction. <br />15
