! - . <br />OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />1986 - 1994 BRIDGE PROGRAM <br />Owner: Ohio Department of Transportation <br />Project Cost: $8-10 Million (approximately) <br />Completion Date: On-going <br />Description: <br />As part of the Sta.te of Ohio Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program, Polytech, Inc. has <br />been selected to provide professional engineering services for the design and preparation of <br />contract plans and related documents for the replacement, rehabilitation or widening of more than <br />twenty-five (25) structures. These structures vary from single span to four-spans and are located <br />on various State Routes in Ohio. <br />The general requirements include field survey work, hydraulic calculations for the determination <br />of waterway openings, geotechnical services, roadway approach work, right-of-way plans, <br />utility coordination, traffic control and detour plans, and cast estimates. <br />The new superstructures consist of composite reinforced concrete decks on steel beams or girders <br />or prestressed concrete box beams, with safety pazapets or deep beam guardrails. The <br />substructures are reinforced concrete, with either full height or stub-type abutments and piers on <br />spread footings or on piles. <br />The rehabilitation projects include repair to abutments and piers, deck replacement, bearings <br />replacement, modifications to abutments backwalls and replacement of expansion joints. <br />20
