AGREEMENT <br />ARTICLE 1 - PURPOSE <br />Section 1. This Agreement is made between the City of North Oimsted, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "City", and Ohio Council 8 and Local No. 2681 of the <br />American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "Union". The male pronoun or adjective used herein refers to the <br />female also unless otherwise indicated. The term "employee" or "employees" where <br />used herein refers to all employees in the bargaining unit. The purpose of this <br />Agreement is to provide a fair and reasonable method of enabling employees covered <br />by this Agreement to participate through Union representation in the establishment of <br />terms and conditions and of their employment, includinq rates of pay, wages, hours and <br />working conditions, and to establish a peaceful proredure for the resolution of all <br />differences between the parties. <br />ARTICLE 2 - RECOGNITlON <br />Section 1. The Union is recognized as the sole and exclusive representative of <br />the duration of this Agreement for the employees in the job classification listed in <br />Exhibits B through B-14(b), and the City will not recognize any other Union, organization <br />or person as the representative for any employees within such classifications. Nothing <br />herein shall prevent individual employees from disc;ussing terms and conditions of <br />employment now covered by this Agreement with the City, however, such <br />communication shall not be used to undermine the position of the Union as the <br />representative of the employees. <br />1 <br />
