JOB CLASSIFICATION EQUIPMENT OPERATOR <br />!r?11, <br />404-1, <br /> <br />RESPONSIBLE TO <br />NATURE OF WORK: <br />SANITARY SEWER <br />SUPERVISOR <br />This is manual labor in the performance of semi-skilled and limited skilled <br />work of a physically demanding nature. <br />Work involves performing manual work of a semi-skilled nature which does <br />not require special previous training or experience. The work can be performed <br />under the immediate direction of Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent-Systems, <br />or the Systems Foreman. Constant supervision is not always available for routine <br />and repetitive tasks, which can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned. <br />Automotive and power equipment will be operated. <br />EXAMPLES OF WORK: <br />• Participates in the work of a crew engaged in cleaning, dragging, and rodding of <br />storm and sanitary sewers; also the cleaning of catch basins. <br />• Operates a variety of special standard sewer maintenance equipment; such as, <br />bucket machines, rodders, sanavac, inspection equipment, backhoe and other <br />automotive equipment as required. <br />• As required, keeps records of all work performed; reports need for materials and <br />equipment to the Systems Foreman when necessary. <br />• Work can be characterized by assignment to rotating shifts when needed as <br />ordered by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent - Systems. <br />• Be subject to 24- hour call for emergency purposes. <br />• Perform related work as required. <br />77 <br />
