Section 6. Whenever a bargaining unit or non-bargaining unit empioyee is out more <br />than eight hours and is replaced by temporary transfer, any employee replacing the missing <br />employee shall be paid the higher of his/her own rate of pay or the missing employee's rate of <br />pay for all time worked in that transfer. Such transfers shall not exceed thirty (30) days unless <br />mutually agreed between the City and the Union. <br />ARTICLE 15 - VACATIONS <br />Section 1. Regular full-time employees hired prior to July 1, 1995 shall be granted <br />vacation leave with full pay as provided below. However, vacation carry-over is limited as set <br />forth in Section 2 below. Pay in lieu of vacation is limited to conditions as set forth. <br />One through four years - <br />Five through nine years - <br />Ten through fourteen years - <br />Fifteen through twenty years - <br />2 calendar weeks <br />3 calendar weeks <br />4 calendar weeks <br />5 calendar weeks <br />Twenty-one years through infinity - 6 calendar weeks <br />Section 2. An employee shall become eligible for vacation leave on his anniversary date <br />and vacation leave shall be taken by the employee within twelve (12) months thereafter. <br />However, so long as an employee uses at least five (5) uninterrupted days of vacation each <br />year, the employee shall be permitted with prior approvat to carry over or to sell back any <br />amount of vacation which does not exceed the amount earned in the prior year. <br />Section 3. If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or involuntarily) prior to taking his <br />vacation and has completed one (1) year of employment with the City, he shall receive the <br />prorated portion of any accrued but unused vacation at the time of separation. In case of death <br />of an employee, the unused vacation leave shall be paid to the estate. <br />(a) If a day recognized as a holiday by the terms of this Agreement <br />falls within an employee's vacation leave; the employee sha11 <br />? not be credited with a vacation day, and will be paid for the <br />holiday at the straight time rate. <br />21
