JOB DESCRIPTION: <br />POSITION TITLE: HEATING, VENTILATING & AIR <br />CONDITIONING INSPECTOR <br />RESPONS(BLE TO: BUILDING COMMISSIONER <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />1. Minimum Education - High School or equivalent. <br />2. Minimum six (6) years experience in commercial and residential heating installation. <br />3. Apprentice heating School or Engineering studies background relating to HVAC <br />4. Must be able to read plans and specifications. <br />5. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with the public. <br />6. Must have a thorough knowledge or be prepared to become acquainted with the City of North <br />Olmsted 's heating, ventilating, and other accepted practices. <br />DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: <br />1. Review plans and specifications. Authorizes the issuance of permits for HVAC installations <br />2. Makes field inspections to determine if HVAC installation meets code requirements, and is <br />built according to plan. <br />3. Evaluates heating applications submitted for permit to determine if the system will heat or <br />cool for structure as intended. <br />4. Determines that the air handling equipment has the proper approvals. <br />5. Enforces the National Model Energy Code and the City of North Olmsted Insulation <br />Code. <br />6. Make field inspections of each installation at various stages of completion. <br />7. Keeps records of all permits and inspections made. <br />8. Performs related work as assigned by the Buiiding Commissioner. <br />9. O#her duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Appendix B - 9 <br />62 <br /> <br />
