JOB DESCRlPTtON: <br />POSITION TITLE: MAINTENANCE (Recreation Department) <br />DEPARTMENT: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />RESPONSIBLE TO: MAINTENANCE FOREMAN <br />MINIMUM QUAL(FtCATiONS: <br />Experience in general maintenance and janitorial requirements as reiated to Parks and <br />Recreation grounds and facilities. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must <br />have graduated from High School or equivalent in experience. Ability to make decisions during <br />emergencies or when problems arise. Knowledge of proper use of tools, light equipment. <br />Possession of a valid operators license. <br />DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: <br />1. Maintain and operate equipment involved in Park ground and facility operations. Inciudes, but <br />is not limited to, pool filfiration systems, chlorinator pumps, lawn movers, tractors, trucks, <br />welder, zamboni and compressor. <br />2. Responsible for proper functioning and use of maintenance equipment including zamboni, <br />truck, lawn mower, weedeater, tools, etc. <br />3. Responsible for the general grounds and 6uiiding, and sport facilities upkeep. Maintenance <br />and janitorial tasks include floor care, painting, garbage dispasal, grass cutting, window <br />cleaning, locker/restroom cieaning, iandscaping, pool vacuuming, ice edging. <br />4. Perform generai repairs and preventive maintenance procedures on equipment, structures, <br />efectricai, plumbing and heating systems under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman. <br />5. Load and unload material firom trucks. <br />6. Responsibie for records tracking pool chemistry, filter operations, building temperature, <br />humidity controls, fuel and vehicle logs and equipment inspections. <br />7.
