ARTICLE 6 - UNION REPRESENTATION <br />Section 1. Employees selected by the Union to act as Union representatives for the <br />purpose of processing grievances under the Grievance Procedure shall be known as Stewards. <br />The City will recognize one steward and one alternate from each of the following: <br />1. Building Division <br />2. PolicelFire Department <br />4. Finance and Service <br />Department and Bus <br />Line, Senior Center <br />and Public Works <br />3. Recreation Division <br />5. Engineering Division, <br />PBXJReceptionist <br />The steward shall represent employees on all three (3) shifts. The alternate steward <br />shall be recognized when the regular steward is absent or otherwise not available. <br />Section 2. Employees who participate in meetings under Step 1 of the Grievance <br />Procedure, during their scheduled work time, or other meetings scheduled by the City under the <br />Grievance Procedure, during the scheduled working time, will be paid for time actually lost from <br />their scheduled work time for the purpose of participating in such meetings. The investigation <br />and processing of grievances by union representative during working time shall be limited to <br />the last fifteen minutes of a shift. <br />Section 3. The Local Union Grievance Committee shall consist of the President, <br />Chapter Chairperson, Chapter Secretary and the Steward from the department involved, but <br />not more than four (4) persons. When there is a reduction in force, the following union officials <br />shall be retained in preference to all other employees, provided they can perform the available <br />work: Chairperson and Stewards from: City Hall, Recreation, Police, Building, and Finance <br />Departments. <br />4 <br />
