Temporary, seasonal and part-txme employees <br />shall have no seniority rights. A regular fu2l-time emplayee fs <br />defiend tomean an emplayee regularX schedu3ed Eor forty (40) <br />hours of work each week. <br />SECTION 2: Seniori.ty shall mean an exnplayees uniterrupted <br />length of aontinuous uninterrupted service with the Gxty, <br />measuxed from his last hiririg date as a full-time employee <br />performing work of this bargaining unit. No.empZoyee shall have <br />sexlioritX for his px'obationary periad pravided in A.rticle 12, but <br />upon completion of the probatianary period, seniority sha3.1 be <br />retroaative to the date of hire. <br />SECTION 3: The Employer shall provide the oPBA. with a capy <br />of the seniority lists and these li.sts sha7.1 be updated every <br />sXx (G) months. The seniarity lists shall name the empZoyee in <br />order of date of hzxe, department, cZassifiCation and seniority. <br />SECTI02d 4: Continuous service and senioxity sha].1 be broken <br />when an employee: <br />A. Quits or resigns; <br />B. Is disaharged for just cause; <br />C. Zs laid off Eor a period that is equal to the amaunt of <br />seniority held at the ti.me the lay-off commences, or <br />twenty-foux consecutive months, whichever is Zess; <br />D. Fails to report to work within seven (7) oalendar days <br />when xecalled frazn lay-off by certifxed mail, addressed <br />to the employees last known addxess wa.thin hzs afficial <br />personnel file, unless the employee is unable due to a <br />xnedically proven disability; <br />E. Is absent without reparting off far three (3) consecutive <br />wark days, unless the emp].oyee has a reasonable excuse <br />satisfactory to the employer for failing to xeport the <br />dbSel2Gt? . <br />SECTION 5: The Czty shall advise the Unzon in writing af <br />additions to or deJ.etions from the seniority list at tlae end af <br />each pay perXOd when the action toak place.
