CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N.O. 95- 88 <br />BY: Ma, o?yle <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING HEALTH CARE BENEFITS <br />FOR NON-BARGAINING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AS <br />AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted previous adopted Ordinance N.O. 92-173 which <br />provided for health care benefits for non-bargaining employees of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, during recent wage negotiation with various bargaining unit employees, a number <br />of mutually accepted concessions were made with the respective unions regarding <br />participation in the cost of the health care benefits and coverage, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to adopt a policy for providing health care coverage <br />that is consistent with the policy established with the unions through collective bargaining <br />process. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: The City shall provide either individual or Family medical insurance <br />coverage at the employees option for each non-bargaining employee as set forth in Exhibit <br />A attached. The employer shall have the option of seeking alternate health insurance <br />providers or plans and will attempt to offer at least two (2) different plans. Basic <br />hospitalization will be consistent with and similar to those plans offered on July 1, 1994. <br />Basic hospitalization will be that offered to all other employees of the city of North <br />Olmsted. The employer has the right to negotiate co-payment and prescription drug rates <br />with providers to lower the cost to the employer as well as the employee contribution. <br />SECTION 2: Effective July l, 1995, through December 31, 1995, covered non- <br />bargaining employee(s) participating within either an individual or Family plan shall <br />contribute an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the plan premium or expected cost of <br />such medical plan and the City shall contribute ninety-five (95%) percent of such cost. The <br />employee contribution shall be withheld via payroll deduction not later than the first pay <br />period each month. <br />Effective January 1, 1996, full-time employee(s) participating within either an individual or <br />family plan shall contribute an amount equal to eight (8%) percent of the plan premium or <br />expected cost of such medical plan and the employer shall contribute ninety-two (92%) percent <br />of such cost. The City contribution shall be withheld via payroll deduction not later than <br />the first pay period each month. <br />?
