<br />ARTICLE XVII <br />LABOR-MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br />Section 17.01 A Labor-Management Committee shall be established to discuss issues relating <br />to the Transit Department including matters of safety, which have not been the subject of a <br />grievance or negotiation. The Committee shall consist of up to three (3) representatives of the <br />NOTEA and up to three (3) representatives ofthe Employer. <br />Section 17.02. The Committee shall meet as necessary but not later than ten (10) working <br />days after the request of either the NOTEA or the Employer. Each side shalI advise the other in <br />writing of its designated members. Either side shall have the right to substitute members at the <br />meetings. <br />ARTICLE XVIII <br />SICK LEAVE <br />Section 18.01. Sick Leave shail be defined as an absence necessitated by personal illness or <br />injury, including pregnancy, to the employee arising on any scheduled day of work. <br />Section 18.02. Full-time employees shall receive annual sick leave according to the following <br />formula: Sick leave hours per year = ten (10) hours x months worked. <br />?"Months Worked" does not include a suspension of five (5) consecutive work days or longer. <br />"Months Worked" does not include any leave of absence as described in Section 19.01 and 19.02 of <br />this Agreement. <br />Accumulated sick leave hours shall continue to be indicated on all full-time employees pay stub. <br />Section 18.03. Sick leave shall not be paid to any full-time employee, which exceeds forty (40) <br />hours in any given week. A week is defined as 12:01 AM, Sunday to 12:00 Midnight Saturday. <br />Section 18.04. An employee who is to be absent on sick leave shall notify the Emptoyer of <br />such absence and the reason therefor at least one half hour before the start of his work shift each <br />day he is to be absent. It is recognized, however, that an employee who is to be hospitaiized or is <br />recuperating from such hospitalization shall not be required to call in on a daily basis. Such <br />employee shall be required to notify the City of the first day of his absence and shall be required <br />to keep the City regularly apprised of his anticipated date of return. <br />Section 18.05. A fui[-time employee who is absent on sick leave for an entire scheduled work <br />day shall be charged at a maximum of eight (8) hours of sick leave and shall be paid at <br />one-hundred (100%) of their reguiar rate; untess Section 18.06 D is applied. <br />A full-time emptoyee who is absent for a portion of a scheduled work day shall be charged the <br />amount of time absent to the nearest minute and shall be paid at one-hundred (100%) of their <br />regular rate; uniess Sect'ron 18A6 D is applied. Sick leave may not be paid for any full-time <br />employee on his two (2) scheduled day's off, each week; even if be had been scheduled to work <br />overtime.
