<br />i <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />Ordinance No. 95-26 <br />By : Mr. McKay <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DON <br />COPELAND TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995 (21ST YEAR), <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing conducted <br />on February 16, 1995, has determined the City of North Olmsted <br />qualifies for Community Development Block Grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has designated one activity, named the <br />Street Improvements and Lateral Sewer Improvements for virginia <br />Avenue and Summerland Avenue, as being eligible for funding <br />through Community Development Block Grant funds; and it is to be <br />designated as the primary project application; and <br />WHEREAS, said project consists of applying for $150,000 <br />for Fiscal Year 1995 and $150,000 for Fiscal Year 1996; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of North Olmsted will appropriate <br />$350,000 in 1996 for leverage funds based on the approval of this <br />project by Cuyahoga County for Community Development Block Grant <br />funding in 1995 and 1996; and <br />WHEREAS, said project consists of improving two streets located <br />in a Low and Moderate Income (LMI) area with new paving, storm <br />sewer and sanitary sewer rehabilitation; and <br />WHEREAS, this improvement will also address a public health <br />hazard of La Crosse Encephalitis; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has selected this project based on its <br />grant eligibility, competitive potential, and its location <br />in a Low and Moderate Income Area; and <br />
