<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 72-,~Q~ <br />BY : _~~, - <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION <br />AND COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED: ESTABLISHING <br />SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DE- <br />PARTMENT WHSLE ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED: ESTABLISHING THE PER DIEM <br />ALLEJ~+IANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EMPLOYEES <br />WHILE ATTENDING THE POLICE SCHOOL, AND RE- <br />PEALING ORDINANCE N0. 72-75, ENACTED JUNE 6, <br />1972, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council that it <br />is necessary to increase the salaries and compensation of the members of the <br />Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />OLMSTED, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department of <br />the City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section 139.02 "Composition and Classi- <br />fications" of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances) shall read as follows: <br />A. The Orgaxiizatior~al Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Qrgizatonal Chart shall consist of the Chief of <br />Police who shall be in charge of the entire police department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of One (1) <br />Secretary; Two (2) Clerks; and other civilian non-police personnel as are <br />authorized, from time to time, by Council of the City of North Olmsted. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General <br />Duty Uniform Roster, which shall consist of, Two (2) Captains; Three (3) <br />Lieutenants; Four (4) Sergeants; Twenty-Eight (28) Patrolmen; Twenty-Five (25) <br />Auxiliary Police; Fourteen (14) School Guards; and One (1) Police Matron, part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective <br />Bureau consisting of Five (5) of the Police Personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, <br />above. One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the Juvenile Officer <br />of the North Olmsted Police Department. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be <br />classified by the Director of Public Safety, as required by law. <br />Section 2. That retroactive to January 1, 1972, and henceforth, the <br />base salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and <br />determined to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police $15,315.00 Annually <br />Captains $14,050.00 Annually <br />Lieutenants of Police $12,890.00 Annually <br />Sergeants $11,827.00 Annually <br /> <br />
