<br />:,CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />bRDINANCE N0. 72- ~~ g~ <br />PAGE 3 <br />of the Police Department, excluding Auxiliary Police and School Guards, and in <br />the event any full time employee of the Police De~.artment is married or is the <br />head of the family the City of North Olmsted shall contribut en additional sum <br />of $260.00 per year towards the cost of a family hospitalization plan with Blue <br />Cross and Medical Mutual, both single persons hospitalization and family hospitali- <br />zation plans shall be established by Contracts 53 YK and 57 2IC. <br />G. That all full time employees of the North Olmsted Police <br />Department, excluding secretarial and clerical help, shall be entitled to certain <br />holidays during the year and shall not be required to work on these holidays, <br />unless scheduled to work by the Chief of Police. In the. event the employee works <br />on one of the following holidays, the employee shall receive another day off from <br />work to replace the holiday he worked. The scheduled holidays are as follows: <br />New Year's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; thanksgiving Day; <br />Christmas Day; the employee's birthday, and the employee's personal use day, <br />this provision does not apply to Auxiliary Police or School-Guards. <br />H. That all full time secretarial and clerical help shall be <br />entitled to certain holidays during the year and shall .not be required to work on <br />these holidays, unless scheduled to work by the Chief of Police, In the event <br />the employee works on one of the following holidays, the employee shall receive <br />another day off from work to replace the holiday she worked. The scheduled holidays <br />are as follows: New Year's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; <br />Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; the employee's birthday. <br />I. That all full time employees of the Police Department shall be <br />entitled to an annual vacation in accordance with. the following schedule: <br />Two (2) weeks vacation after one (1) year full time service. <br />Three {~) weeks vacation after seven (7) years full time service. <br />Four (4) weeks vacation after fifteen (15) years full time service. <br />Section 3. That the employees of the Police Department of the City of North <br />Olmsted be reimbursed, not to exceed $3.00 per day, for per diem expenses while <br />in attendance at the Police Training School established by the Cuyahoga County" <br />Commissioners at Western Reserve University, which school is for a two (2) week <br />period with ten (10) days class attendance. <br />Section 4. That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of resolutions <br />or parts or ordinances, inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this Ordinance, <br />and especially Ordinance No. 72-75, enacted June 6, 1972, are hereby repealed with <br />the effective date of this Ordinance. <br />Section 5. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to forward <br />a copy of this Ordinance to .the Director of Finance in order that the Director of <br />Finance can pay the compensation as hereinabove set forth, and a copy of this <br />Ordinance to the Chief of Police. <br />Section 6. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of the City by virtue of the fact that the Finance Department can compute <br />gAy raises at the same time for all Departments. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED• <br />ATTEST: <br />~~ <br />Nora T.
