Amended <br />_~.f <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 72-53 <br />BY: Speedling <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING REDUCED FARES FOR <br />SENIOR CITIZENS RIDING THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />MUNICIPAL BUS LINE. <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee of Council desires to alleviate <br />economic burdens on senior citfznes (age 65 or over) by reducling bus fares for <br />citizens of this age group ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee of Council suggests that it be <br />mandatory for all senior citizens to establish that they are sixty-five (65) years <br />or over to the Director of Public Service of the City of North Olmsted ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted now wishes to authorize <br />reduced fares to senior citizens on the terms and conditions hereafter set forth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio <br />Section 1. That there is hereby established a reduced fare fo~'''senior citizens <br />( 65 years of age or over) . <br />Section 2. All persons wishing to qualify for the reduced fare for senior <br />citizens must establish to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Service of the <br />City of North Olmsted that they are sixty-five (65) years of age or over. Proof <br />of age may be established by, Birth Certificates, Medicare Identification Cards, <br />Senior Citizen Cards, or any other public records . <br />Section 3. The Director of Public Service, upon being satisfied that the <br />applicant qualifies as to age, shall issue a North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line <br />Identification Card which shall entitle the applicant to qualify for the reduced fare . <br />Said Identification Card shall be numbered consecutively and a record shall be kept <br />as to whom said card was issued. The Director of Public Service shall. instruct the <br />sen3~or citizen that the Identification Card is issued for the exclusive use of the <br />senior citizen and that it is not transferable , and a violation of this provision will <br />automatically void the Identification Card. <br />Section 4. Upon being issued an Identification Card, as set forth in Section <br />3 hereof, any senior citizen is entitled to ride the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line <br />during the times and for the amounts hereafter set forth <br />FARE SCHEDULE <br />1. Local trips and to Rapid Transit: <br />$ . 25 per trip - to and from all zones $ . 25 <br />2 , Downtown <br />$. 50 per trip - to and from all zones $.50 <br />TIME SCHEDULE <br />When Senior Citizens Identification Cards May Be Used <br />1, Weekdays - 9:15 a. m. to 2:15 p. m.
