<br />r: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 71- ~'~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION <br />AND OOMPOSTTION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ;ESTABLISHING <br />SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DE- <br />PARTMENT W13ILE, ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED ; EST`ABISHING THE PER DIEM <br />.ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EMPLOYEES <br />WHILE ATTENDING THE POLICE SCHOOL, AND <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 71-51, ENACTED APRIL <br />20, 1971, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council that it <br />is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of the members of the <br />police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio ; <br />Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department of the <br />City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section 139.02 "Composition and Classi- <br />fications " of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances) shall read as follows; <br /> <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the Chief of Police <br />who shah. be in charge of the en#ire police Department . <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of ,One (1) Secretary ; <br />Two (2) Clerks ;and other civilian non-police personnel as are authorized, from <br />time to time, by Council of the City of North Olmsted. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General Ditty <br />Uniform Roster, which shall consist of, Two (2) Captains ;Three (3) Lieutenants ; <br />Four (4) Sergeants ;Twenty-Eiger. (28) patrolmen ;Twenty-Five (25) Auslary <br />police ;Fourteen (14) School Guards ;and One (I) Police Matron ,part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective Bureau <br />consisting of Fare (5) of the Police Personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, above. <br />One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the juvenile Officer of the <br />North Olmsted Police Department. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classified <br />by the Director of public Safety, as required by law. <br />Section 2. That retroactive to April I, 1971, and henceforth, the base salaries <br />of the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and determined to be as <br />follows : <br />Chief of Police $14, 726.00 Annually <br />Captains $13, 510.00 Annually <br />Lieutenants of Police $12, 395.00 Annually <br />Sergeants $I1, 372.00 Annually <br /> <br />
