C <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. ~1- /~f' PAGE <br />police Department, excluding Auxiliary police and School Guards, and in the event <br />any full time employee of the police Department is married or is the head of the family <br />the City of North Olmsted shall contribute an additional sum of $100.00 per year to- <br />wards the cost of a family hospitalization plan with Blue Cross and Medical Mutual, <br />both single persons hospitalization and family hospitalization plans shall be established <br />by Contracts 53YK and 57ZK. <br />G. That all full fime employees of the North Olmsted police Department <br />excluding secretarial and clerical help shall be entitled to certain holidays during <br />the year and shall not be required to work on these holidays, unless scheduled to <br />work by the Chief of police. In the event the employee works on one of the following <br />holidays, the employee shall receive another day off from work to replace the holiday <br />he worked. The scheduled holidays are as follows ;New Year's Day ; Memorial Day ; <br />Independence Day ;Labor Day ;Thanksgiving Day ;Christmas Day ;the employee's <br />birthday ;and the employee's personal use day, this provision does not apply to <br />Auxiliary police , or School Guards . <br />H. That all full time secretarial and clerical help shall be entitled <br />to certain holidays durl~~t the year and shall not be required to work on these Holidays, <br />unless scheduled to work by the Chief of police. In the event the employee works on <br />one of the following holidays ,the employee shall receive another day off from work <br />to replace the holiday she worked. The scheduled holidays are as follows ;New <br />Year's Day ;Memorial Day ;Independence Day ; Lanor Day ;Thanksgiving Day ; <br />Christmas Day ;the employee's birthday . <br />I. That all full time employees or the Police Department shall be <br />entitled to an annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule ; <br />Two (L) weeks vacation after one (1) year full time service. <br />Three (3) weeks vacation after seven (i) years full time service. <br />Four (4) weeks vacation after fifteen (15) years full time service. <br />Section 3. That the employees of the police Department of the Gity of North <br />Olmsted be reimbursed, not to exceed $3.00 per day, for per diem expenses while <br />in attendance at the Police Training School established by the Cuyahoga County <br />Commissioners at Western Reserve University, which school is for a two (L) week <br />period with ten (10) days class attendance. <br />Section 4. That all other ordinances or resolutions or parts of ordinances or <br />parts of resolutions, inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this Ordin~ee, and <br />especially Ordinance No. 71-51, enacted April 'L0, 1971, are hereby repealed with the <br />effective date of this Ordinance. <br />Section 5. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to forward <br />a copy of this Ordinance to the Director of Finance in order that the Director can pay <br />the compensation as nereinabove set forth, and a copy of this Ordinance to the Chief <br />of Police. <br />Section 6. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health safety and welfare of the <br />City by virtue of the fact of the immediate necessity of adjusting compensation for <br />City employees so a s to make such compensation commensurate with the requirement <br />of the various jobs.., WHEREFORE,. this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage, otherwise at the earliest date permitted by law. <br />Passed; // ~-7~ <br />Attest ; <br />Nora T.
