'` <br />~-' - <br />-2- <br />Definition of Benefited Units <br />Single family residence <br />Apartments ; <br />Efficiency and <br />Two bedroo~- - <br />Three bedroom <br />one bedroo~ct - <br />and over - <br />1 <br />No. of apt. units x .5 <br />No. of apt. units x .75 <br />No. of apt. units x l.D <br />The number of benefited units to be assigned to non-residential <br />buildings, structures or other facilities shall be determined by <br />the Director of Public Service in the following manner; The Director <br />of Public Service shall review the preliminary plans of the building, <br />structure or other facility to be served by the connection, together <br />with other pertinent information, and based upon accepted engineering <br />practices determine the estimated average daily quantity of sewage <br />to be discharged from such building, structure or other facility to the <br />sanitary sewer system. The quantity so determined shall then be <br />divided by the estimated average daily quantity of sewage discharged <br />from a single family residence and the resulting quotient carried out <br />to the nearest tee-hundredth shall be the number of benefited units <br />assigned to such building, structure or other facility. The tap-in <br />charge will then be calculated by multiplying the number of benefited <br />units by the rate per unit applicable at such time. <br />Section 3. The permits and charges provided for in this section shall not <br />be deemed to preclude the subsequent levy of assessments against benefited <br />properties to provide funds for the construction of sanitary sewers required to <br />provide local sewer service to such properties, and the permit and charges pro- <br />vided for by this section shall be in addition to any other permits and charges <br />required by any other legislation and regulations of the City, including but not <br />limited to the tap-in charge imposed by Ordinance No. 68-150 (Section 913.115 of <br />the Codified Ordinances) for local sewer service for a connection to a sewer for <br />which the property served by such connection was not specially assessed for local <br />sewer service. <br />Section ~+. In the event that the Director of Public Service shall ascertain <br />that any property has been connected directly or indirectly to the municipal <br />sewerage system jn violation of the provisions of this section, the Director of <br />Public Service is authorized to disconnect such property, or have the seta? dis- <br />connected, until such violation shall cease. The City shall be reimbursed by the <br />violator for expenses incurred by the City in making such disconnection. <br />Section 5. Whoever violates any provision of this section shall be guilty <br />of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be fined not exceeding ~'S a day for <br />any such violation and each day during which such violation shall continue shall. <br />be a separate offense. <br />Section 6. All charges collected pursuant to the provisions of this ordi- <br />nance shall be paid over as received to the Director of Finance for deposit in the <br />Sewer Revenue Fund. Subject to the provisions of any ordinance or indenture of <br />mortgage authorizing the issuance of and securing mortgage revenue bonds for the <br />sanitary sewer system, monies in such Fund shall be used for the payment of the <br />cost and expense of operation, maintenance, repair and management of the system <br />and for the payment of debt and other charges on bonds, notes and other obligations <br />issued or incurred for the construction of or improvements to the system, and any <br />surplus in said Fund over and above the requirements hereinbefore mentioned may <br />be used for enlargements of and replacements to the system and parts thereof. <br />Section 7.
