~~~ F:- .- ~ ~._ CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 71-55 BY : ~y~"~-~-' AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE BUS DRIVERS OF THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE, AND REPEALING ORDiN~INCE N0. 71-45, ENACTED APRIL 6, 1971, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee and the Finance Committee has recommended an adjustment in the pay rate of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line; and WHEREAS, Council is desirous of making an adjustment in the compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section 1. That retroactive to March 1, 1971, cotr~ensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be as follows: 1. Any person employed as a bus driver with no previous experience or with insufficient prior experience as a bus driver or operator of a public passenger bus shall be required to serve one (1) year as an apprentice. During such year such driver shall be paid: during the first three (3) months of his apprenticeship $3.35 per hour; during the second three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.40 per hour; during the third three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.45 per hour, and for the final three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.50 per hour. After having completed his one (1) year apprenticeship he shall be paid as provided in Paragraph (a) herein. A. All bus drivers, other than apprentices (as set forth in Paragraph 1), herein shall be paid at the rate of $3.65 per hour. B. That, excluding secretarial and clerical employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line and, retroactive to Marchl, 1871 all full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line having completed five (5) years full time continuous service as employees of said department shall be paid an additic'3na1 3% of their base annual salary, thereafter until the completion of the tenth (10) year of continuous full time service, after which such employee shall receive 4% of their base annual salary, thereafter which until the completion of the fifteenth (15} year of continuous full time service, and thereafter 5% of their base annual salary until after the completion of the twentieth (20) year of continuous full time service, and during each year of full time service thereafter they shall receive 6% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. C. In computing length of service for the purpose of making payments of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time service, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which may be due them for part-time service as employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. D. That there shall be allowed for each bus driver the sum of $65.00 per year for the acquisition of uniforms to be worn while operating a bus for the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. E. That upon the appointment of a new driver he shall be allowed the sum of $75.00 for uniforms and accessories for the first year of such appointment. F. That all bus driving employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be entitled certain holidays during the year and shall not be required to work on these holidays, unless scheduled to work by the General Manager. In the event the employee works on one of the following holidays the employee shall re- ceive another day off from work to replace the holiday he worked. The scheduled holidays are as follows: New Year's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; the employee's birthday.
