' f " y, <br />' r <br /> <br />BY: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 71-~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISING THE ORGANIZATION <br />AND COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED; ESTABLISHING <br />SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DE- <br />PARTMENT WHILE ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED ; ESTABLISHING THE PER DIEM <br />ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLIC£ EMPLOYEES <br />WHILE ATTENDING THE POLICE SCHOOL, AND <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 70-168, ENACTED <br />OCTOBER 20, 1970. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council that <br />it is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of the members of the <br />Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department of <br />the City of North Olmsted (Chaprter 139, Section 139.02 "Composition and Classi- <br />fications " of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances) shall read as follows : <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the Chief of Police <br />who shall be in charge of the entire Police Department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of, One (1) Secretary; <br />o (2) Clerks ;and other civilian non-police personnel as are authorized , from <br />time to time, by Council of the City of North Olmsted. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General Duty <br />Uniform Roster, which shall consist of ,Two (2) Captains ;Three (3) Lieutenants ; <br />Four (4) Sergeants :Twenty-Eight (28) Patrolmen ;Twenty-Five (25 ~)1.~ry <br />Police ;Fourteen (14) School Guards ;and One (1) Police Matron, part-tibiae. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective Bureau <br />consisting of Four (4) of the Police personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, above. <br />One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the Juvenile Officer of the <br />North Olmsted Police. Department. <br />E. The Folice Department as constituted herein shall be classified <br />by the Director of Public Safety, as required by law. <br />Section 2. That retroacetive to April 1, 1971, and henceforth, the base <br />salaries of the members of thePolice Department are hereby fixed and determined to <br />be as follows: <br />Chief of Police <br />Captains <br />Lieutenants of Police <br />Sergeants <br />$14 , 72 6.00 Annually <br />$13 , 510.00 Annually <br />$12 , 395 , 00 Annually <br />$11, 3 7 2.0 0 Annually <br />
