„ ~,. ~. ~ f CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 70-~7~ BY: i~~. ~.//.cQ~~ AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE BUS DRIVERS OF THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 70-97, ENACTED JULY 7, 1970. WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee and the Finance Committee has recommended an adjustment in the pay rate of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line ;and WHEREAS, Council is desirous of making an adjustment in the compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio Section 1. That retroactive effective April 1, 1970 compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be as follows: 1. Any person employed as a bus driver with no previous experience or with insufficient prior experience as a bus driver or operator of a public passenger bus shall be required to serve one (1) year as an apprentice. During such year such driver shall be paid :during the first three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.10 per hour ;during the second three (3) months of his apprenticeship $3.15 per hour ;during the third three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.20 per hour ; and for the final three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.25 per hour. After having completed his one (1) year apprenticeship he shall be paid as provided in Paragraph (a) herein. A. All bus drivers, other than apprentices (as set forth in Paragraph 1) ,herein shall be paid at the rate of $3.40 per hour. B. That excluding secretarial and clerical employees and retroactive to April 1, 1970 all full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line having completed five (5) years full time continuous service as employees of said department shall be paid an additional 3% of their base annual salary, thereafter until the completion of the tenth (10) year of continuous full time service, after which such employee shall receive 4% of their base annual salary, thereafter which until the completion of the fifteenth (IS) year of continuous full time service, and thereafter 5% of their base annual salary until after the completion of the twentieth ( 20) year of continuous full time service, and during each year of full time service thereafter they shall receive 6% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. C. In computing length of service for the purpose of making payments of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time service, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which may be due them for part-time service as employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. D. That there shall be allowed to each bus driver the sum of $65.00 per year for the acquisition of uniforms to be worn while operating a bus for the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line.
