it - <br />_ ~ •~ . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 70-74 <br />BY PROKASY <br />Revised <br />AN ORDINANCE TO SUPPLEMENT THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES BY ENACTING A NEW CHAPTER 731. <br />ENTITLED "MOTION PICTURES AND FILMS "AND <br />ENACTING NEW SECTIONS RELATING TO THE INSTAL- <br />LATION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF MOTION <br />PICTURE MACHINES AND FILMS, A <br />WHEREAS, the Public Safety Committee of Council has been advised of <br />the fire hazards of the showing of motion pictures ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee has conducted meetings and has investi- <br />gated the safeguards necessary to protect the public ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee has recommended to Council the following <br />safeguards, which safeguards Council now wishes to place into the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That new Sections 731.01 thru 731.99 of the Codified Ordinances <br />of the City of North Olmsted be and the same are herey enacted to read respectively <br />as follows: <br />731.01 SCOPE OF APPLICATION <br />The provisions of Sections 731.01 to 731.99, inclusive, shall not <br />apply to exhibitions which are exhibited by and are incidental to the provisions of <br />any charitable, religious, benevoient, civic, fraternal or educational institutions <br />and for which no admission charge is demanded, but shall apply to theatres, <br />auditoriums, schools, churchs, halls, and such other exhibition or meeting rooms <br />to which the public or any segment thereof, are admitted to view the showing of <br />any pictorial representations projected from a picture machine as hereinafter de- <br />fined, unless otherwise exempted as hereinabove set forth. <br />731.02 PICTURE MACHINES -DEFINITION <br />The term "Picture Machine "when used herein means any machine <br />or device, either permanently located or portable in nature, operated by or with the <br />aid of electricity, or any other illuminant, and which is designed, intended or used <br />to project upon a screen, or other surface, pictorial representations through the use <br />of any type of film, tape, or other material or equipment. <br />731.03 COMPLIANCE WITH CODE <br />No picture machine shall be installed, maintained, or operated <br />within the City of North Olmsted except in conformity with the provisions of this <br />i <br />
