Ail full time employees of the Fire Department having completed five <br />(5) years of full time continuous service as employees of said department shall <br />be paid an additional 3~ of their base annual salary, thereafter until completion <br />of the tenth (10) year of continuous full time service, after which such employee <br />shall receive 4% of their base annual salary, thereafter until the completion of the <br />fifteenth (15) year of continuous full time service, and thereafter 5% of their base <br />annual salary until the completion of the twentieth (20) year of continuous full <br />time service, and during each year of full time service thereafter they shalt receive <br />6% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. <br />B. In computing length of service for the purpose of making payments of <br />longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time <br />services, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity incre- <br />ments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employee of <br />any other benefits which may be due for part-time service as employees in the <br />Safety Department. <br />C. In addition to the regular base salary plus increments and other wage <br />increases, all regular employees of the Fire Department, including officers shall <br />on their original appointment and during the first calendar year of their appointment <br />receive $300.00 clothing allowance ,and shall during each calendar year there- <br />after receive a clothing allowance of $200.00 to be determined and disbursed by and <br />with the approval of the Fire Chief of the Department. <br />D. For each full time member of the Fire Department, the City of North <br />Olmsted shall pay an amount equal to a single person's rate per month towards <br />the cost of Blue Cross Hospitalization and Medical Mutual premium of said <br />members of the Fire Department, as established by Contract 52YS effective the <br />22nd day of May, 196~i. <br />E. That all full time employees of the Fire Department shall be entitled <br />to an annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule <br />Two (2) weeks vacation after one (1) years full time service <br />Three (3) weeks vacatian after seven (7) years full time service <br />Four (4) weeks vacation after fifteen (15) years full time service. <br />Section 3. That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of ordinances <br />or parts of resolutions inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this Ordinance, <br />and especially Ordinance No. 69-57,are hereby repealed with the effective date <br />of this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to <br />forward a copy of this Ordinance to the Director of Finance in order that the <br />Director of Finance can pay the compensation as hereinabove set forth ,and a <br />copy to the Fire Chief. <br />Section 5. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the public peace, safety, health and welfare of the City of <br />North Olmsted by virtue of the immediate necessity of maintaining and increasing <br />the moral and effectiveness of members of the Safety Department. WHEREFORE, <br />this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, <br />otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ~~4 <br />ATTEST: <br />/~~ - <br />Nora T.
