<br />- 20 - <br />Legality <br /> <br />66. It is the intent of the City and the Union that this Memorandum <br />comply in every respect, with applicable legal statutes, and <br />charter requirements, and if it is determined that any provision <br />of this Memorandum is in conflict with law, that provisions shall <br />be null and void and shall not affect the validity of the remain- <br />ing paragraphs of this Memorandum. In the event of an unlawful <br />determination, the City and the Union shall meet within thirty (30) <br />days for the purpose of negotiating a lawful alternative provision. <br />Longevity Pay <br />67. All employees in the bargaining unit steal]. receive longevity pay <br />in accordance with the terms of Ordinance No. 73 73 and Ordinance <br />No. 73-7k. <br />Wages <br />68. All employees within the bargaining unit shall receive a wage <br />increase in accordance with the provisions of Appendix A attached <br />hereto . <br />Duration <br />69. This Memorandum of Understanding shall become effective on the <br />19th day of July, 1973, and shall continue in full force and <br />effect until midnight, July 18, 197, and thereafter from year to <br />year unless at least ninety (90) days but not more than one hun- <br />dred twenty (120) days prior to said expiration date, or any anni- <br />versary thereof, either party gives timely written notice to the <br />other of an intent to negotiate on any or all of its provisions. <br />Upon timely written notice of an intention to reopen negotiations, <br />an initial conference will be arranged within fourteen (1~+) days <br />after receipt of such notice. <br />~:~~,~ <br />
