OHIO; PAGE 2 will be granted. 3, THAT, further, the City of North 01,~~_ ~ Ohio shall join with the other various cities comprising t e greater Cleveland area for the purpose of designating the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association as a Regional Commission on Cable TV for the purpose of authorizing a regional study of the legal, economic, and technical questions regarding cable television, inclu- ding the feasibility and advisability of entertaining franchise ap- plications for, and the granting of a unified regional franchise or franchises. 4. THAT, further, the Clerk is authorized, empowered and directed to certify a copy of this legislation to the Executive Secre- tary of the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association. 5. THAT, further, the sum of $ .1,,174.68 is hereby appro- priated and, upon further direction of council, shall be paid to the Cuyahoga. Coundy Mayors and City Managers Association for the purpose of providing matching funds to pay for the proposed study, which funds shall be held in escrow, disbursed as necessary, and accounted for at reasonable intervals or at any time upon request, with the unused portion of funds to be returned to this municipality when the study has been completed. 6. THAT, further, this resolution is declared to be an emer- gency measure in that immediate passage is necessary to take advantage of matching financial support from the Cleveland Foundation, and in that such a study will materially affect the public welf are of the citizens of the community. It shall therefore become effective imme- diately upon passage.
