& 0 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 68-217 <br />BY?1? <br />A RESOLUTIOIV COMMENDING SERVICE OF RONALD <br />SLATER FOR HIS PUBLIC SERVICE IN THE NORTH OLMSE D <br />BOARD OF EDUCATION, AS TEACHER, DEAN OF BOYS, AND <br />HEAD FOOTBALL COACH, AND DECLARING AN EMERGEIVCY. <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Slater has served residents of the City of North <br />40 Olmsted in many capacities for many years ; and <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Slater upon his discharge from the United States <br />Army in September 1946, has beenadt.ached to the North Olmsted Board of Education ; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, he served as the Director of the North Olmsted Recreational <br />Program from its inception in 1949 until March 21, 1968 ; and <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Slater organized the North Olmsted Touchdown Club ; <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Slater served as Dean of Boys of North Olmsted High <br />School from the year 1955 to the present ; and <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Slater served as the Head Football Coach far the North <br />Olmsted High School accumulating during his tenure as Head Football Coach an <br />excellent win-loss record ; and <br />WHEREAS, in addition to all the foregoing activities Ron Slater managed <br />to successfully fill the position of a Teacher in Social Studies in the North Olmsted <br />Educational System ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted reyognizing the <br />achievements, as a teaeher, a citizen with broad civic interest, a football coach, <br />but most of all as an " achiever" and " doer;' wishes to recognize Ronald Slater <br />for his contributions not only to the City of North Olmsted, but more to the residents <br />of the City of North Olmsted, wish to express their gratitude to Ronald Slater for a <br />tremendous contribution to the people of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section I. That the minutes of this Council meeting, December 17,1968, <br />show the gratitude, appreciation and recognition of the member of this Council to <br />the unselfish contributions of time and advice given by Ronald Slater to the citizens <br />• and future citizens of North Olmsted. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to <br />send to Ronald Slater a copy of this Resolution. <br />Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, <br />health and welfare of the City.
