., <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 68- 4 <br />BY ' ?'? • ?--?+??-?? <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING NORTH OLMSTED CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCE, TITLE ONE, CHAPTER 1301, SECTION 1301.05 <br />ENTITLED "AMENDMENTS TO REGIONAL DWELLING HOUSE <br />CODE" BY ADDING PARAGR.APH (d) TO SECTION 1593.53 <br />ENTITLED "WATER-DISTRIBUTING PIPE, TUBING, AND <br />FITTINGS.. " OF THE REGIONAL DWELLING HOUSE CODE, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Building Code Appeals has recommended <br />that certain changes be enacted in the Regional Dwelling House Code; and <br />WHEREAS, Council is of the opinion that it is to the best <br />interests of the City of North Olmsted that the suggested changes by the Board <br />of Building Code Appeals be enacted into legislation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section l: That Codified Ordinance , Title One, Chapter 1301, <br />Section 1301.05 entitled "Amendments to Regional Dwelling House Code" by <br />adding Paragraph (d) to Section 1593.53 Entitled "Water-Distributing Pipe, and <br />Fittings" of the Regional Dwelling House Code, presently reading as follows: <br />"1593.53 Water-distributing pipe, tubing, and fit#ings. <br />(a) Subject to the provisions of subsections <br />(b) and (c) of this Section, material for water- <br />distributing pipes and tubing shall be of brass, <br />copper, lead, cast-iron, wrought iron, open <br />hearth iron, steel or other approved material <br />with appropriate approved fittings, conbrming <br />to the applicable specifications listed in <br />Table 93A. All threaded ferrous pipe and <br />fittings shall be galvanized (zinc-coated) or <br />cement lined. When used in corrosive soil, <br />all ferrous pipe and fittings shall be coal tar <br />enamel coated or othenNise protected in an <br />equivalent manner against external corrosion. <br />(b) No piping material shall be used to convey <br />potable water where reactioM between such material <br />and the water may cause the potable water supply <br />used for human consumption or culinary purposes <br />to be toxic or other wise unsuitable for human <br />consumption. <br />(c) Piping or fittings that have been used for other <br />than potable water supply sliall not be used in a <br />potable water supply system.
