r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> <br />ORDIIVANCE NO. 69- PAGE 3 <br />American Society of Agricultural Engineers. <br />( c) The use of this emblem shall be restricted to the slow- <br />moving vehicles specified in subsection ( b) and ( f) <br />hereof operating or traveling within the limits of the high- <br />way. Its use on slow-moving vehicles being transported <br />upon other types of vehicles or on any other type of <br />vehicle or stationary object on the highway is prohibited. <br />( d) No person shall sell, lease, rent or operate any slow- <br />moving vehicle, as defined in subsection ( b) hereof, <br />except those units designed to be completely mounted on <br />a primary power unit, which is manufactured or assembled on or <br />after April 1, 1966, unless such vehicle is equipped with a <br />slow-moving vehicle emblem mounting device as specified <br />in subsection ( b ) hereof. <br />( e) In addition to the use of the slow-moving vehicle emblem <br />as specified in subsection ( b) hereof, it is permissible to <br />display on the rear of these vehicles a red flashing light <br />which shall be visible from a distance of not less than <br />500 feet to the rear during the time and under circumstances <br />specified in Section 337. 02.It sha11 be a light approved by the <br />Director of Highway Safety. When a double-faced light is <br />used, it shall display amber light to the front and red light <br />to the rear. <br />( f) Animal-drawn vehicles which normally travel or are normally <br />used at a speed of lessthantwenty miles an hour shall either <br />cor,nply with subsection ( b) hereof when upon a street or <br />highway or display on the rear thereof devices consisting of <br />reflector materials and a lantern, or a red flashing light, <br />either of which shall be visible from a distance of not less <br />than 500 feet to the rear during the time and under the <br />circumstances specified in Section 337.02. The red flashing <br />liqht, or reflector devices and lantern shall be approved by <br />the I7irector of Highway Safety. ( ORC 4513.11 ) <br />Section 2. That any ordinance or parts of ordinances, or resolutions <br />or parts of resolutions, inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance, <br />and especially Ordinance No.65-298, enacted December 21, 1965, are hereby <br />repealed with the effective date of this Ordinance. <br />Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public <br />peace, safety, health and welfare by virtue of the fact that Section 337.10 <br />prior to this amendment is in conflict with the provisions of the State Statutes. <br />WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon <br />its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PAS SE D: <br />ATTEST: <br />. ..?.?1 <br />Florence Holrn, Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: 3?
