PAGE 2 <br />( d) No person shall sell, lease, rent or operate any slow- <br />moving vehicle, as defined in subsection ( b) of this <br />section, except those untis designed to be completely <br />mounted on a primary power unit, which is manufactured <br />or assembled on or after April 1, 1966, unless such vehiele <br />is equipped with a slow-moving emblem mounting device <br />as specified in subsection ( b) of this section. <br />( e) In addition to the use of the slow-moving vehicle emblem <br />as specified in subsection (b) of this section, it is per- <br />missible to display on the rear of these vehicles a red <br />flashing light, approved by the Ohio Director of Hiqhway. <br />Safety , which shall be visible from a distance of not less <br />than five hundred feet to the rear during the time and under <br />circumstances specified in Section 337.02. When a double- <br />faced liqht is used, it shall display amber light to the front <br />and red light to the rear. <br />( f) Animal-drawn vehicles which normally travel or are normally <br />used at a speed of less than twenty miles an hour shall dis- <br />play on the rear thereof devices, approved by the Ohio <br />I7irector of Highway Safety, consisting of reflector materials and <br />a lantern, or a red flashing light, either of which shall be <br />visible from a distance of not less than five hundred feet to <br />the rear during the time and under the circumstances specified <br />in Section 337.02. ( ORC 4513.11 ) <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />337.10 LIGHTS ON SLOW-MOVING VEHICLES ; <br />EMBLEM REQUIRED. <br />( a) All vehicles, including those referred to in Section 337.10 <br />not specifically required to be equipped with lights by <br />Section 337.02 to 337.09, inclusive, shall , at the time <br />and under the circumstances specified in Section 337.02, <br />display at least one lighted light or lanter exhibiting a <br />white light visible from a distance of approxir'r?ately 500 <br />feet to the front of such vehicle and a light or lantern ex- <br />hibiting a red light visible from a distance of approximately <br />500 feet to the rear. <br />( b) All farmmachinery and other machir?ery„ including all road <br />construction machinery, upon a street or highway, except <br />when being used in actual construction and maintenance <br />work in an area guarded by a flagman, or where flares are <br />used, or when operating or traveling within the limits of a <br />construction area designated by the Ohio Director of High- <br />ways, the Municipal or County Engineer, when such con- <br />struction area is marked in accordance with requirements of <br />the Director of Highways and the Manual of Uniform Traffic <br />Control Devices, as set forth in Ohio R. C. 4511.09, which <br />is designed for operation at a speed of twenty-five miles an <br />hour or less shall be operated at a speed not exceeding <br />twenty-five miles per hour, and shall display a triangular <br />slow-moving vehicle emblem ( SMV ). Such emblem shall be <br />mounted so as to be visible from a distanee of not less than <br />500 feet to the rear. The Director of Highway Safety shall <br />adopt standards and specifications for the design and position <br />of mounting the SMV emblem.
