Revised <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE IVO. 69-58 <br />BY WEST <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGAIVIZATION <br />AND COMPOSITIOIV OF THE POLICE DEPARTMEIVT OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED; ESTABLISHING SALARIES <br />OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHILE <br />ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF 1VORTH OLMSTED ; ESTABLISH- <br />ING THE PER DIEM ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE <br />POLICE EMPLOYEES WHILE ATTENDIIVG POLIC'1E SCHOOL, <br />AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 68-133, AIVD ORDIIVANCE <br />NO. 62-175, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee of Council has advise Council the <br />need for additional Policecxren to adequately serve the City of North Olmsted ; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council <br />that it is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of the members <br />of the Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department <br />of the City of North Olmsted ( Chapter 139.02, 11 Composition and Classi- <br />fications " of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances ) shall read as follows: <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of theChief of <br />Police who shall be in charge of the entire Police Department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shallalso be incharge of one ( 1) Secretary <br />and one ( 1 ) Clerk. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General Duty <br />Uniform Roster, which shall consist of three ( 3) Lieutenants ; four ( 4) <br />Sergeants ; twenty-four ( 24 ) Patrolmen ; twenty-five ( 25 ) Auxiliary Police ; <br />fourteen ( 14 ) School Guards ; and one ( 1) Police Matron, part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective Bureau <br />consisting of four ( 4 ) of the Police personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, above, <br />one ( 1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the juvenile Officer of <br />the North Olmsted Police Department. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classified <br />by the Director of Public Safety as required by law. <br />Section 2. That effective April 1, 1969, and henceforth, the base <br />salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and deter- <br />mined to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police $11, 800. 00 Annually <br />Lieutenant of Police $10,100. 00 Annually <br />Sergeants $ 9, 650..00 Annually <br />Patrolmen for First Year $ 7,488.00 Annually
