w ?. <br />, <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 697 ?]9 <br />? <br />-Wftt. <br />..OW' <br />Page 2 <br />( b) No bicycle or motorcycle shall be used to carry <br />more persons at one time than the number for <br />which it is designed and equipped, nor shall any <br />motorcycle be operated on a street or highway <br />when the handle bars or grips are more than <br />fifteen inches higher than the seat or saddle for <br />the operator. <br />( c) No person shall operate a motorcycle on a street <br />or highway, or be a passenger on a motorcycle, <br />unless wearing a protective helmet on his head, <br />with the chin strap properly fastened, and using <br />safety glasses or other protective eye device. <br />Such helmet, safety glasses or other protective <br />eye device shall conform with regulations pre- <br />scribed and promulgated by the Ohio I7irector of <br />Highway Safety. The provisions of this sub- <br />section or a violation thereof shall not be used <br />in the trial of any civil action. <br />( d) No person shall engage in trick riding or operate <br />a motorcycle without both hands upon the handle <br />grips, except when necessary to give the hand <br />signal required herein, or while carrying packages, <br />bundles or articles, at which time at least one <br />hand must be kept on the handle bars. <br />Section 2. That any ordinance or parts of ordinances, or resolutions <br />or parts or resolutions, inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance, are <br />hereby repealed withthe effective date of this Ordinance. <br />Section3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace , <br />safety, health and welfareby virtue of the fact that Section 375.06 prior to this <br />amendment is in conflict with the provisions of the State Statutes.
