• <br />+~ r <br />B-9 <br />POSITION TITLE: HEATING, VENTILATING & AIR CONDITIONING <br />INSPECTOR <br />RESPONSIBLE TO: BUILDING COMMISSIONER <br />Minimum Qualifications: <br />1. Minimum Education - High School or equivalent. <br />2. .Minimum six (6) years experience in commercial and <br />residential heating installation. <br />3. Apprentice Heating School or Engineering studies background <br />relating to HVAC. <br />4. Must be able to read plans and specifications. <br />5. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with the <br />public. <br />6. Must have a thorough knowledge or be prepared to become <br />acquainted with the City of North Olmsted heating, <br />ventilating, and other accepted practices. <br />Duties <br />1. Review plans and specifications. Authorizes the issuance of <br />permits for HVAC installations. <br />2. Makes field inspections to determine if HVAC installation <br />meets code requirements, and is built according to plan. <br />3. Evaluates heating applications submitted for permit to <br />determine if the system will heat or cool the structure as <br />intended. <br />4. Determines that the air handling equipment has the proper <br />approvals. <br />5. Enforces the National Model Energy Code and the City of <br />North Olmsted Insulation Code. <br />6. Make field inspections of each installation at various <br />stages of completion. <br />7. Keeps records of all permits and inspections made. <br />8. Performs related work as assigned by the Building <br />Commissioner. a <br />9. Other duties as assigned. <br />- 53 - <br />
