CITY OF NORTH OLMSTi <br />ORD. N0. 89-6$ <br />PAGE TWO <br />371.06 USE OF HIGHWAY FOR SOLICITING; RIDING ON OUTSIDE OF VEHICLES. <br />(a) No person while on a roadway outside a saftey zone shall solicit <br />a ride from the driver of any vehicle. <br />(b) No person shall stand on a highway for the purpose of soliciting <br />employment, business or contributions from the occupant of any vehicle. <br />(c) No person shall hang onto, or ride on the outside of any motor <br />vehicle while it is moving upon a roadway, or upon public or private <br />property used for vehicular traffic except mechanics or test engineers <br />making repairs or adjustments. (ORC 4511.51) <br />(d) No operator shall knowingly permit any person to hang onto, or <br />ride on the outside of any motor vehicle while it is moving upon a <br />roadway, or upon public or private property used for vehicular traffic, <br />except mechanics or test engineers making repairs or adjustments. <br />(ORC 4511.51) <br />(e) No person shall leave or enter a vehicle which is in motion <br />except in an emergency necessitating such action. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public safety, health and <br />welfare and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to comply <br />with current law, and further, provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: S, /9 ~9 <br />ATTEST: <br />FLORENCE E.
