04? <br />a . ?- <br />. ?.,-- <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 83-77 <br />BY. ? <br />le?l <br />i <br />? <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (D) OF SECTION <br />1000.10 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES ENTITLED <br />"GENERAL PROVISIONS" OF CHAPTER 1000 ENTITLED <br />'SLTB'DIVISIQN OF LAND" AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council on December 2, 1980, adopted Ordinance <br />No. 79-139, which provided for the adoption of comprehensive <br />standard with respect to subdivision of land, and <br />6VHEREAS, Subsection 1000.10 (D) provides .for certain paving <br />rec{uirements in new subdivisions, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for <br />barrier curbs on all subdivisions which are to be constructed in <br />the City of North Olmsted regardless of zoning classification. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BF IT ORDAINE'D BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Sections 1000.10 entitled "General Provisions" <br />of Chapter 1000 entitled "Subdivision of Land" at Subsection (D) <br />which is entitled "Paving", and reads as follows: <br />"(D) Paving <br />(1) All streets shall be paved with eight inch <br />(8") reinforced concrete pavement; shall have <br />integral curbs; shall have a minimum width of <br />28 feet (28') measured from back of curb to back <br />of curb; shall be constructed in accordance with <br />the current State of Ohio, Department of Trans- <br />portation, construction and material specifications, <br />Item 451 reinforced Portland cement concrete pavement. <br />(2) Areas other than residential: Nine inch (9") <br />reinforced concrete pavement with barrier curbs, <br />and shall have a minimum width of 28 feet (281) <br />measured from the inside face to inside face of curbs. <br />(3) For all areas regardless of the type of zoning <br />where the proposed pavement width from back of curb <br />to back of curb exceeds thirty-two feet (32'), the <br />minimum lane width shall be eleven feet (111) <br />except that the Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />may require wider lane widths to conform to the <br />volume and type of traffic. <br />(4) Sidewalks. Concrete walks shall be five feet <br />(51) wide, four inches (4") thiclc except at <br />driveways where the thickness shall be six inches <br />(61'). Wire mesh, 6" x 6", No. 10 minimum, shall be <br />provided and used throughout the entire length of <br />the sidewalk. <br />(5) Driveway aprons shall have a minimum thickness <br />of six inches (6") for residential and eight inches <br />(81') for commercial and sha11 be flared toward the
