"CiTY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 83-82 <br />' PAGE FOUR <br />Any full time sworn employee of the denartment who qualifies for benefits <br />under Paragraph M hereof shall be required to pay over to the City any amounts re- <br />ceived from the Bureau of Workmen`s Compensation as supplemental wages. Further, if, <br />at any time, the City determines, on the basis of inedical evidence, that an employee <br />is permanently disabled and will no longer be able to carry on his duties, then the <br />City may terminate payments and insist that the employee go on a pension program. <br />Any employee who qualifies for the benefits under this paragraph shall not have his <br />accumulated sick time reduced because of a qualified accidental injury which occurred <br />while in the line of duty. <br />Any employee, at the time of his retirement, may elect to receive all <br />benefits due him in one lump sum payment. <br />All full-time sworn Police Officers shall receive one eight (8) hour day off <br />with pay for each six (6) consecutive months of unused sick time off. These off days <br />shall be determined by the Ghief of Police. A11 full time sworn Police Officers shall <br />receive three (3) eight ($) hour days off, if requested, due to death in the immediate <br />family. "Immediate family", in case of death, shall be interpreted as meaning the <br />employee's spouse and children of the employee. <br />SECTIpN 3: That the employees of the Police Department of the City of North <br />Olmsted be reimbursed, not to exceed three dollars ($3.00) per day, for per diem <br />expenses while in attendance at the Police Training School established by the Cuyahoga <br />County Commissioners at Case Tdestern Reserve University, which school is for a two- <br />week period with ten days class attendance. <br />SECTION 4: That the rules and regulations established by virtue of the adoption <br />of Ordinance No. 76-157, on November 3, 1976, and revised sections, shall remain in <br />force and effect and said rules and regulations shall be adopted with this Ordinance <br />and the same are made a part hereof by reference. <br />SECTION 5: Fxcept as otherwise provided herein, all other ordinances or resolu- <br />tions, or parts of ordinances or resolutions, or narts of ordinances or resolutions <br />inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this Ordinance, and especially Ordinance <br />No. 82-49, are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 6: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, <br />and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary for the continuity o.f <br />services of the safety forces of the City, and further, provided it receives the <br />affirma.tive vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: / q?.5 ATTEST: <br />Qrrl <br />FLO ENCF E.
