? .., <br />inspection fee of thirty dollars (630.00) for a residential or commer- <br />cial building sewer permit and the same for an industrial building <br />sewer permit shall be paid to the City at the time the application is <br />filed. <br />The building sewer permit shall be issued to the applicant upon <br />approval of plans submitted for such construction. Construction <br />involving openings or excavations in any street, boulevard, avenue or <br />other public place in the City shall be pursuant to Chapter 901 of the <br />Codified Ordinances. Construction shall be made in accordance with <br />the plans approved by the City Engineer for such construction which <br />plans shall thereafter remain on file with the City Building <br />Department as a permanent public record. <br />In no case shall such work be commenced and prosecuted unless such <br />permit is issued and is on the premises of and in the possession of <br />the person doing the work authorized by the permit. Each permit shall <br />give the correct name and number of house, building or establishment <br />and the lot or sublot upon which the same is located for the work pro- <br />vided for in the permit. Information shall be so stated on the permit <br />as to sufficiently define by description the premises to be so served <br />and to clearly delineate the location of the premises to be so served <br />upon the map of the City's sewage system. <br />(c) All costs and expense incident to the installation and con- <br />nection of the building sewer shall be borne by the owner. The owner <br />shall indemnify the City for any loss or damage that may directly or <br />indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building sewer. <br />(d) In the case of industrial waste permits, the owner shall <br />provide at his expense a sampling manhole installed between the build- <br />ing and the public sewer connection and shall further provide a list <br />of all chemicals used, manufacturing processes used and composition of <br />the effluent to be discharged, to the Service Director. The owner <br />shall comply with all ac3ditional requirements set forth in Chapter <br />917, Industrial Pretreatment. <br />(e) A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided <br />for every building, except that where one building stands at the rear <br />of another on an interior lot and no private sewer is available or can <br />be constructed to the rear building through an adjoining alley, court, <br />yard, or driveway, the building sewer from the front building may be <br />extended to the rear building and the whole consic3ered as one building <br />sewer. <br />(f) Old building sewers may not be used in connection with new <br />buildings. <br />(g) The connection of the building sewer into the public sewer <br />shall conform to the requirements as established by the Cuyahoga <br />County Sanitary Engineering Department, or by the Ordinances of the <br />City, whichever is more restrictive. <br />-15-
